“Behind the Bite” is a story and photography exhibition, commissioned by Waterford Food Festival. Curated in celebration of the food community in the West Waterford region, these forty photos were captured by Joleen Cronin and the stories captured by Jane Gormley of CRAICLY

A triumph of community and guest involvement in food producer and culinary brilliance, this festival was JAM PACKED with excellent events. In 2024 the festival released a striking portrait photography exhibition (captured by Joleen Cronin) entitled “Behind the Bite”. Forty local Waterford Food Heroes were celebrated within these portraits, is being extended in 2025 to include an accompanying story exhibition.

You can expect personal, short insights to the experiences and stories of farmers, fisher folk, butchers, chefs, greengrocers, brewers, bakers, growers and many other champions of the unique Waterford food industry and tradition in this space.
