“JOURNEY’S & REFLECTIONS”

TICKETS AVAILABLE VIA EVENTBRITE

June Blake’s Garden, in Blessington, Co. Wicklow is much regarded as a National Treasure! Nestled in gorgeous, rolling countryside June has created a haven of natural forms and planting, creating a hugely regarded horticultural environment and very special space.

In addition, the three acre garden envelopes a wonderfully restored stone cut courtyard with a newly launched event space “The Grinding House” along with architecturally designed holiday accommodation.

Our event will start in the early evening, with drinks and a garden tour from June.

“The Grinding House” will also house a gorgeous exhibition from three different contributors. June’s childhood photographs of growing up her her siblings in Blessington taken by a family friend and beautifully depicting the family life on the farm! Also, personal preparatory works from a recently sold out exhibition “Flowers” by figurative artist, Ciara Gormley will be exhibited along with a beautifully complementary reflective addition from the private collection of gilded mirrors from Ireland longest serving Master Gilder, Ms. Susan Mulhall.

Following drinks and a light Summer supper, there will be stories on theme of “Journey’s & Reflections” that we can all relax into for the evening. Storytellers can interpret the theme in any way, be it horticultural, artistic… or not! The story telling in a shared experience that we can all enjoy.

  • Weekend Accomodation is available directly from June Blakes website.

STORIES OF FOOD: Why do I do it? Celebrating food producer, sellers, growers an innovators. As part of the Waterford Food Festival we are looking forward enticing some of the hard working food producers to take an evening off and share some of their experiences and stories with us. We look forward to tales from organic beef farmers, foresters, veg farmers, butter churners, gin makers, biscuit bakers. Salterbridge is an historic, private home on the Blackwater and opened by kind generosity of the owners. The Irish food industry is a huge part of our heritage, not to mention all the other important facets. Light supper - some wine - CRAICLY fires and lovely stories.
