CRAICLY STORIES wants to send an evening of stories, support and congratulations to our local shops all over the country who support and provide our local communities. Rural and Urban, it’s the shop on the corner that is the brightly lit heartbeat for many a family.
On the evening of Friday 28th November ( Black Friday) when retailer giants battle it out for your Christmas millions, we will be in the soul of our community, having the craic and sharing stories of what goes on all y ear around in our local shops.
With stories of "The Messages" - (the endearing Irish term for the stuff that we need at the shops) we are coming to Feakle, County Clare to the legendary Smyths General Store. The Smyth family have been supplying Feakle and the village surrounds with milk, coffee, dinner ingredients, butter, the papers, fuel, farm supplies, Christmas trees, satirical St. Patricks Day parades floats, shamrocks and sweets along with a smile and a healthy dose of slagging…. for generations. More recently, they've added fancy pesto and Irish cheeses and wine.... along with some tables and chairs for neighbours to enjoy a chat. They are even a funeral home too, so will look after you right up to your last earthly wishes and needs! A lifetime of stories and messages have been formed in this special place.
Our evening will involve some drinks, conversations and pre-curated stories of ! "The Messages".
Imagine life without your local shop.
And imagine the amount of money the country is going to be spending on Black Friday Deals in global, multinational brands on the day and evening of Friday November 28th. Well, we won’t be! We will be comfortable and having the craic with the Smyth’s and listening to winning stories of “The Messages!
**If you have a shop and would like to host one, let us know and we will help you do that.
